I was recently reading an EMS Voices column over at EMS World when I came upon another article by its author Mike Rubin called Social Not-working. The article highlights a number of different issues with some important reminders that, for those of you who don’t want to click through, can basically be summarized with this:

I agree with alot of what Mike Rubin says in that article. For that matter, I’ve said similar things time and time again. Of course, because of the Eternal September effect, it will be a topic that will continuously need to be rolled out probably once every six months.
It can be a difficult thing to reign those emotions in before typing and sending a message, especially when it is about a topic we are as passionate about as Ralphie is when writing his theme about what he wants for Christmas. It’s important to remember basic courtesy and that just because we can say something, doesn’t necessarily mean that we should.
That list bit also goes for old e-mail providers like Prodigy. For the love of Google, Mike, get a G-Mail account!
Extra kudos for whoever gets the movie reference in the comments…

Oh! The theme I’ve been waiting for all my life. Listen to this sentence: “A Red Ryder BB gun with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time”. Poetry. Sheer poetry, Ralph! An A+!
Actually, I’m allergic to kudos – I break out in a rant.
.
Ding ding ding.
You’re allergic to kudos? And when you get them you break out into a rant?
You must get ALOT of kudos…
