A little over a year from when FDNY EMT Melissa Jackson and fellow FDNY EMT Jason Green walked out of an Au Bon Pain shop leaving Eutisha Rennix to suffer without anything more than a call to 911, Jackson is now pointing fingers at another employee of FDNY that her lawyers have identified as Rich Lee according to the New York Post.
What makes this interesting is that this is the first time the name of Rich Lee has come to public knowledge. Green was shot and killed back in July outside of a club in what police determined as an unrelated altercation, which left Jackson alone to face the charges of Official Misconduct. The fact that perhaps Rich Lee was present and perhaps was also asked to render aid is irrelevant to the fact that Jackson and Green were indeed present and were definitely asked to render aid, to which they instructed the staff to “call 911”.
If it turns out that Rich Lee is an EMT or Paramedic, was asked to help Eutisha Rennix, and instead walked away from the scene then he too deserves to be charged with Official Misconduct. However, I have some serious doubts about Jackson‘s accusations considering that it has taken over a year since the incident for this to come to light and Jackson is now just pointing fingers to save her own neck.
Ironically, or perhaps not, Jackson and Green worked in the FDNY BEMS Communications Division. This is the same division that FDNY and Mayor Bloomberg are now trying to fund through the extortion of the Voluntary Hospitals.
