Fueling Social Media: Sharing

You will often read or hear about the “power” of Social Media to provide the effective communication of new ideas, viewpoints, and initiating a dialogue. In fact the chances are pretty good that you have most likely heard about it from me because I am, unabashedly, a Social Media Evangelist.

So where is the “power” derived from? If you think back to your early days in school one of the very basic societal lessons that they attempt to teach you is the concept of sharing.

Sharing (verb):
a : to partake of, use, experience, occupy, or enjoy with others
b : to have in common

While the very basic building block of Social Media is the individual, it takes more than that. It takes the combination of the individual and the act of sharing to initiate the effect that in essence is the “power” of Social Media.

Sharing Is Caring And It Can Spark Revolutions

Chronicles of EMS have moved off Ning (which considering recent developements is a good move in my opinion) and onto their own platform. As part of that move they have now made available a PDF version of the EMS 2.0 Mission.

I encourage you to share that page on Twitter, Facebook, or your own blogs.

I encourage you to e-mail it to your friends and family, ask them to read it and to tell you what they think. Start the dialogue.

I encourage you to print it out and carry some copies with you so that when you meet a like minded person you can easily share the EMS 2.0 Mission.
